Thea has been an attorney for 35+ years with focus on family law and mediation. She was a partner at Hertz & Lloyd in Brattleboro for 15 years before joining the Vermont judiciary for six years. In 2016 she resumed private practice as a mediator including family law, special education, probate, civil, and other disputes.
Thea obtained a B.A from Boston University before receiving her J.D. from Northeastern Law School in 1980. In 1994, Thea completed a divorce and family mediation training at Woodbury College, Vermont. She continues to participate in, and teach, continuing education courses. She is a member of the Vermont Bar Association ,Vermont Family Mediator organization (VFaM), and the Academy of Professional Family Mediators.
