This is a full-day intermediate level training for those wishing to understand and apply insight mediation techniques. Insight mediation is a different approach to conflict than traditional interest based and deals with the threat/defend dynamics that are so familiar to separating families. Spend a day understanding the theory and practicing these important skills.
Participants will:
- Understand the approach and how it differs from traditional interest based mediation and negotiation
- Appreciate the power of curiosity in disrupting patterns of certainty
- Recognize the threat/defend patterns that sustain conflict and how to change those client interactions
- Learn and practice the key skills of noticing, bridging, layered questions and deepening
