Part 4: Cutting Edge Ideas for Parenting Plans Affected by COVID-19

Description: Family mediators are being challenged to “think outside the box” for creative solutions to parenting plan issues arising from the limitations related to COVID-19. Our panel of experts on parenting mediation will brainstorm new ideas for parenting plans, on a range of pressing issues, including:

Temporary modifications of parenting-time schedules;
Periodic reviews of temporary modifications;
Feasibility of future “Make-up” parenting time;
Consequences of working and schooling from home;
Transferring children from one parent to the other;
Hygiene rules at both parents’ houses;
Establishing boundaries to minimize virus exposure;
Children’s in-person contact with “at-risk” loved ones;
What to do if a parent or child becomes ill.
