Description:
This advanced **course** is designed for students who have already completed a 14-hour Basic Parenting Coordination (PC) course and want to strengthen their practical skills in delivering effective Parenting Coordination services. Through recorded lectures, demonstrations, interviews, readings, case studies, assignments, assessments, and live interactive tutorials, participants gain a deeper understanding of the complexities of PC practice and learn strategies for managing the challenges and tensions that commonly arise in high-conflict family matters.
The course explores current research, protocols, and international best practices related to parenting coordination, including the impact of separation and conflict on children, trauma and resilience, factors influencing child outcomes, motivational interviewing, and evidence-based conflict management strategies. Participants also develop skills for balancing neutrality while moving cases forward efficiently, navigating arbitral and non-arbitral processes, managing files effectively, and distinguishing between process-management skills and behavioural-change interventions. Practical learning is reinforced through coached role plays and small-group discussions that follow both simple and complex Parenting Coordination cases from beginning to resolution.
