Roundtable Agenda
- Global Perspectives on Mediation Practice – Leaders from around the world will share how mediation is practiced in their countries, highlighting whether services are court-based or privately offered, the role of credentialing in their jurisdictions, and visions for expanding mediation globally.
- California Update: Regulation of Practicing Mediators – The President of the Southern California Mediation Association (SCMA) will provide an important update on the California Bar Association’s recent actions related to mediator regulation.
- National Mediator Credentialing Program – Representatives from PMBS will present a crucial update on the forthcoming national credentialing initiative designed to benefit professional mediators across the U.S.
About our Presenters
Galit Sneh Lurie is an Israeli Mediator and Collaborative Attorney with over 30 years of extensive experience in family, civil, and commercial mediation, practicing at Sneh Lurie Law and Mediation Office.
She currently serves on the Mediation Advisory Committee to the Courts, appointed by the Minister of Justice, and co chairs the Mediation & Arbitration Committee of the Israeli Bar Association, where she has also contributed to its legislation, accreditation and continuing education initiatives.
Since 1997, Galit has been a pioneer leader in mediation education and training in Israel, teaching at the Israeli Bar, the University of Haifa, and within diverse professional communities. A frequent presenter at leading conferences, she co developed the innovative Multi-Dimensional Mediation approach integrating cognitive, relational, and spiritual dimensions with diverse conflict-resolution strategies to address the complex emotional and systemic needs of parties in conflict.
Beyond her professional practice, Galit has been instrumental in national initiatives promoting mediation and collaborative law, serving on a parliamentary committee that proposed post divorce parenting legislation and representing the Israeli Bar as a delegate to the Parliament on legislating mediator accreditation frameworks.
Helen Anthony started her career as a family law solicitor before moving in to policy development work. She worked for the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers, English PEN and as a free lance consultant on issues relating to access to justice including court procedure, costs and alternative dispute resolution, before joining the Family Mediation Council ten years ago. Helen has also supported the Civil Mediation Council alongside her work for the FMC, but now focusses solely on family mediation. Outside of work, you’ll often find Helen with family and friends in the stands watching rugby or at a pub quiz.
